New nursery and New beds

We finally finished the babies nursery this past weekend. Parker moved over to his car bed and we moved his crib over to Kensley's room. He was so excited over his new bed that he didn't even seem to mind that his old bed was now moving next door. Parker has done so good with the transition---it's funny he is so different than Maddox. Maddox hates anything in his bed except his 'snuggles' and a few of his pillows while he sleeps. Where Parker empties his whole toy chest and all of his books in bed with him. I don't know where he even sleeps! That's why we decided to move him over early to the car bed because it's a little bit bigger than the crib toddler bed so it allows him to have more room to sleep. I can't complain though because when he wakes up in the morning or from nap, he will just lay in his bed and read until I go and get him (Maddox used to yell "MOMMY" over and over until I went to go get him). So that Maddox didn't feel left out, we also purchased new bedding for him (a sport theme of course), and rearranged his room a little so that it seemed new and different for him too.

It's nice to have the nursery done, now we just are waiting for the baby! I'm 32 weeks right now, and I'm hoping the next 8 weeks or so goes by uneventful and as easy as the rest of my pregnancy. I'm definitely getting big but not overly uncomfortable...yet! I'll have to post some pregnancy photo's soon!

Weekend Review

Whew...what a busy weekend we've had! On Friday we decided to take the boys up to Silver Lake for a picnic and some fishing. We didn't actually catch any fish but they had fun trying! We even got to see another moose in the lake!

Later that evening, we went to the Salt Lake Bees Game---even though the game was a blow-out (not in our favor), Maddox and Parker had fun running around on the grass with a bunch of other boys playing tag. I don't think they even realized there was a baseball game going on.

On Saturday, mine and Angie's birthday, was our neighborhoods annual Margaritaville Party at our friends Denna and Larry's house. It's always a great time with live music, mexican food, and plenty of Margarita's for everyone (well, except if you're pregnant!). The boys loved the dancing on the dance floor---they can really get down!

On Sunday, we went over to my dad and step-mom's house for a family barbeque to celebrate our birthday. We had a great time just relaxing (and not having to cook!), and the boys had a great time playing in the "sand box" (dog run), badminton, and wrestling with Uncle Tim. Watching all the boys together, I can't help but wonder what a little girl is going to do when we all get together...I'm sure she will just join in on all the boy activities. They better watch out!

Today is our 8th Anniversary!!! I cannot believe how fast 8 years have gone---it seems like just yesterday I was walking down the aisle! Every year for our anniversary, Scott plans a get-away for us (without kids), and though he had to change plans for this anniversary (due to me being pregnant), we did manage to go to Park City. We stayed at the Canyon Resort, and enjoyed an outdoor concert Saturday night, and then went to dinner at Ruth Chris. It was nice to get-away just the two of us without the boys' (thanks to Nana and Papa!).

3D pictures

We decided that for our anniversary present to each other, we would go to Fetal Studio for some 3D pictures of Kensley. We took the boys with us (big mistake...they got bored after about 2 minutes!) to see their new baby sister. Kensley though was being very shy, and would not move her arm away from her face! The US tech tried for an hour to get her to move by pushing on my stomach, having me try different positions, and walking around, but sure enough was very stubborn. We did manage a few pictures though, but he said we could come back in a few weeks for free and try again! Next time we'll go without the boys' so that Scott can actually get to see! It was still pretty cool to see the 3D pictures and gave us a glimpse of what she is going to look like---already has very chubby cheeks (estimated weight is 3.6 lbs).

Albion Basin

On Sunday, we decided to go up to Albion Basin for a picnic lunch after church to see the wildflowers. Unfortunately, it seemed that everyone else in this state had the same idea. We finally though were able to find some parking, and embarked on our nature hike. It was beautiful up there, only in the low 80's, and flowers galore. We even spotted a moose---thanks to some fellow hikers who pointed him out to us. It turns out we had hiked right behind him on a small trail and didn't even notice him! It was nice to get out and actually get a little exercise. It's amazing though how winded you can become being pregnant and carrying an extra 20lbs at a higher elevation!

Draper Safety Fair

Last week was the Draper Safety Fair at the Draper park. It's fun because every year the police department, and fire department come with all of the cool equipment and vehicles that they use, in addition to fun bounce houses and the boys love it! Last year we got to see an army helicopter land---which was incredible! This year they got to sit in a life-flight helicopter and fire engine and got to meet the mascot for the Blaze football team, and the Jazz bear! We also got to see a police dog in action as the police department demonstrated what skills he is trained to do! For boys, this is definitely an annual event especially since Parker has recently become obsessed with "engines" and "sirens".

Parkers Out of His Crib!

Last Saturday we decided to start the transition of moving Parker to his "big boy bed". First we wanted to convert his crib to a toddler bed to get him used to that initially. Surprisingly, he has done good so far (knock on wood). I couldn't believe how sad I was to move him out of his crib! It's hard to see him grow up so fast! He sleeps so good in there for night-time and naps, and I thought I was messing with a good thing. But, I wanted him to get used to his bed before the new baby comes, and not get upset when he see's his crib in the babies room. He's so good in the morning when he wakes up, and will just get some books and stuffed animals to play with until I go and get him. He doesn't even try to get out (but I have a child-proof lock on his door just in case). It looks like my baby is growing up!

Splash Park Fun

We went to the Herriman splash park last week and met up with Angie and cousins Logan and Sawyer. It was a perfect sunny warm day and the boys' always have fun playing with each other. Parker basically just observed from the side lines and didn't want to get wet, while Logan and Maddox took turns between getting wet and playing at the playground. It's hard to believe that pre-school/Mothers-Morning-Out starts up again in less than a month! What a fast summer it has been, and there is still so much I want to go and do!
