Visiting the Witches

We went last week to Gardner Village to see all the Halloween witches and Fall Harvest decorations. The boys had a great time at the petting zoo with Logan and Sawyer. It was Parker's first time on the pony ride and he was a little nervous about it but loved chasing the goats and the pigs around and actually get a chance to pet them! The older boys loved spotting out all the witches around Gardner Village---especially the ones on the rooftops! Parker, again, is a little hesitant with anything to do with Halloween...I remember Maddox being the same way! It was a beautiful fall day, and it was nice to get out and take some cute fall pictures. It's amazing though how winded I get and how many breaks I need to take (as seen in all the pictures with me in them!). The donut/cookie/muffin top treat at the end was just what I needed!!

Parker's Obsession With...

Parker is truly obsessed withcars!! We cannot go anywhere unless he has one for each hand! He loves to line them up on the couch and the coffee table, and can play with them by himself for literally hours (as long as he doesn't get interrupted by his big brother!). I bought him some Lightning McQueen pajama's and he was in heaven. He insisted on carrying them around the house throughout the day, and even took them outside to play with him! In the mornings, we have to fight with him to change in to regular clothes!! I also bought him some McQueen hightop shoes which he loves and wants to wear everyday even after explaining to him that they don't look good with shorts and can only be worn with pants. Too cute! I guess I already know what theme to use for his birthday party!

My Baby Shower!

Despite my many protests, my sister threw me (another) baby shower! This is the 3rd one that she has thrown for me over the years (one for each of my kids)! I just felt silly because it was my third baby, granted it is a girl, so I was able to get lots of "girly" things that I haven't gotten before. It was a great time!!! Of course, she went all out with the food, decorations (pink and brown of course), AND tons of presents!
My mom came up from St. George and brought my two aunts---they're always fun to see them when they're all 3 together! Plus my step-mom, my brother's girlfriends, Scott's sister, and some of my friends all were there.
It was a great time, and I received so many great gifts! I can't believe how many cute girl outfits there are!! I have a feeling Kensley is going to be one spoiled little girl! Thanks again Angie!!! P.S. Aren't I looking big!! Just a few more weeks!

Fall Soccer

Maddox started his Fall Soccer League last night! We took one of the summer sessions off so that he could concentrate on his swim lessons, so he was excited to get back in to it! This is his 4th session playing soccer---and you can definitely tell a difference from when he started! He scored 3 goals last night which brought his team to victory----not that it matters! I'm trying to enforce in him that it doesn't matter who wins or who scores the most goals, etc. but that the important thing is that they had fun as a team. Yeah right! He just looks at me like I'm crazy---he's sooo competitive! Poor Parker wants to go play so bad and it's so hard to keep him at the sidelines. Unfortunately I have to wait until he is 4 before he can actually play. Until then, we'll just have to keep practicing in the backyard where he kicks EVERYTHING (including golf balls). There are 7 more games and I'm hoping to be able to go to them all even though the baby is due soon!

Smores and Wine Party

Here are a few pictures from last weeks "Wine and Whine" Get-together. We added the 'smores' this time for the kids to do at the neighbors fire pit. The kids enjoyed roasting their very own marshmallows and then eat the gooey mess! Maddox and Parker are usually the only boys among all the neighborhood girls (one of these days they won't mind!), but my sister came with her two boys which was fun for them! With another boy there, Maddox was more brave with the girls, and they ended up chasing them around the yard the whole night. While us moms (and some dads) enjoyed "whining" and sipping on some yummy wine (yes, I did sneak in a few sips---I figure I'm only a few weeks away so why not). It's amazing to already feel the coolness in the air once the sun goes down signalling that Fall is just around the corner!

First Day of "School"

Maddox started his 2nd year of preschool and Parker started his 2nd year of Mothers Morning Out (MMO) last week. They were both so excited! Maddox has some of his same classmates from last year, plus some new boys to get to know (he was only 1 of 3 boys in his class last year). Parker has the same two teachers that Maddox had when he was in MMO (Miss Mary and Miss Suzanne) and he seems to love it (yah...no hitting so far!). Though he wouldn't let them change his diaper the first day, and was also the only one that wouldn't participate in 'circle time' to sing---that's my boy! Definitely Mr. Independent! Until the baby comes, this 3 hr. break will definitely help me in getting errands done, and doctor appointment made without having to take kids or find other child care. Though I do miss just hangin' out with the two lil' guys it just makes the time that we do have all together even more special!

Boondocks Fun!

For our last little outing before school started, we decided to surprise the boys with a Boondocks trip. Maddox has literally been bugging us for months to take him there, and we finally found the perfect time to go. Scott was off of work and we figured that a Tuesday morning after Labor Day weekend would be a good time since most kids are all back in school. We told Maddox that we were going to take him to a 'fun' place but wouldn't tell him where. While we were driving we said that the surprise was Del Taco where they could play in the play gym and have a kids' meal (which usually is a 'fun' outing when you're not anticipating some 'super fun' place). You should have seen the look of disappointment on his face! I think he secretly was hoping that the surprise place was Boondocks! So then we said we were just kidding and we were actually going to Costco to run some errands and then we would have a smoothie and hot dog there for lunch. Doesn't that sound fun!? We had him convinced until we actually pulled into the Boondocks parking lot. Boy, were they excited!! On top of that, we also planned on meeting cousins Logan and Sawyer and Aunt Angie there. All the boys' had such a good time on the go-carts, miniature golf, play gym and lots of video games. Plus hardly anyone was there! It was a great way to end summer vacation!

Labor Day Storm

This Labor Day weekend was supposed to be a 'get outside and enjoy the last little bit of summer' weekend before school starts. Instead it turned into a stormy, much colder than normal weekend. Luckily we didn't have any major plans that got put on hold besides our Annual Church Park Day on Sunday. Instead we made popcorn and sat out on the porch and watched the torrential downpour. The 'boys' then decided to go down to the playroom and watch Star Wars while mom caught up on some scrapbooking. We were supposed to have gone to Lake Tahoe this week, but cancelled it once I found out I was pregnant. So since Scott already had the time off, he decided to work on a few things around the house (i.e. paint the garage, finish the mudroom, etc.), and even managed to fit in a fishing trip to the Green River where he is right now. All in all it was a relaxing Labor Day and its been a nice week being able to spend more time with dad!
