Another Vegas Get-away!

You would think that Vegas in the middle of April would be warm!!  Unfortunately with our luck, it was cold (not as cold as Salt Lake mind you, but still only in the 50's!).  We did make it to the pool though on our last day when it warmed up to balmy 60's!).  We planned this trip to include our family, my sister and nephews, and Scott's staff for a "team building" retreat.  We stayed at the fabulous Aliante which is nice since it's off of the strip which is something that we desire since we used to live in Vegas and have already done all the touristy things.  Though we did do the Circus Circus Adventuredome which was a first for me.  Funtime for the kids!  I am so tired of complaining, but when will spring get here???  So tired of being COLD!!

We Miss You Stan/Grandpa "K"

I write this with tears in my eyes...so hard to look back at all the fun times and memories that we had with my step-dad Stan.  He left this earth last Saturday, March 26 after a year long fight with a rare cancer (Retroperitoneal Sarcoma) that basically invaded all his vital organs.  He fought hard and was able to walk my little sister down the aisle at her wedding just one week prior to his passing.  I can't help but feel sad about all the fun times we won't be able to share with "Grandpa K" anymore since he was such a fun grandpa to be around!  But I have peace knowing that we will all be together again soon!  We love and miss you!!!

Cancun Mexico

What a perfect time of year to go to beautiful, sunny, warm Mexico!!!  We left Salt Lake in a snow storm (and returned to a snow storm as well!), and checked in to our Cancun resort just 4 1/2 hrs. later to a balmy 80 degrees!  Pure heaven for someone who was getting soooo tired of winter (and still am!).  We met our friends Jorge and Ginger there---without kids, and had a blast catching up, laying by the pool trying an assortment of tropical drinks, ate to our hearts content (not too happy with the scale upon our return!), zip-lined, swam with dolphins (a dream of mine since I was little), golf/spa treatments, and basically just relaxed!  Thanks to Scott's parents and our "nanny" Shokey who watched our kids and home for us!  We literally could not have done this without their help!!  Cannot wait to go back and visit again...is next week too soon?!?!?  Seriously...
