What a great time we had in Phoenix just the two of us. Though it rained the first day we were there, we enjoyed sunny 70 deg. weather the following two days. What a big Damon Conference it was---as Scott's "Marketing Director" I actually attended some of the courses which was interested. We played golf together which we haven't done in close to 4 years! I was pleasantly surprised that I actually beat Scott on a few holes (he wasn't very happy about that!). It was fun to meet some other Orthodontists that practice in Utah, and we all went out to a great Japanese dinner----where we had a drunk Mexican chef serve us (very interesting!). We were able to sit out by the pool for a little bit, but wished that the boys were with us since they would have loved the lazy river! The JW Marriott was beautiful and would highly recommend the Raspberry Sour Martini's in the lounge bar! Ask Scott...I couldn't stop talking about how good they were! I wrote down the ingredients and will try and replicate them for you to taste! Yummy!

Maddox's 1st Ski Lesson!
We went to the Canyon's yesterday for Maddox's first ski lesson. He looked so cute all bundled up in his ski gear complete with a helmet and goggles! By the end of the lesson, he was skiing down a run, in the "pizza" position all by himself! It was nice for Scott and I to ski together all day, and enjoy a morning coffee, lunch and beer, and then another afternoon coffee (it was a late Saturday night!). Maddox did so good---we were so proud! Take a look at the videos...

Las Vegas Trip
We just got back from a mini-vacation to St. George and Las Vegas. Scott had an orthodontic class in Vegas so we decided to make a trip out of it with the boys. We were lucky to have such beautiful weather there: high 50's in St. George (Scott even got to go golfing), and 60's in Las Vegas. We had fun going to the pool one day, and visited with my old friend, Paul and his new baby girl, Zoey (soooo adorable!). We went to The Mirage and visited the dolphin habitat, and white tigers. Amazing---the tigers were so close, and we got to actually watch a training session with the dolphins! I hadn't been back there for close to 10 years! It was weird to see the pool where I used to work---everything looked so different! Lots of fun memories! We also saw my sister Nina and met her boyfriend, Kevin. We had some great Cadillac Margaritas, (tried) bowling, and even went to a Kahlua party (now that brings back a lot of memories..."The Kahlua Krew"!). It was sure hard to come back to 10 degrees!! Now our next trip...Phoenix next week (without the boys' thanks to G-ma/G-pa "K"! Yeah!).

New Basement
Since I just finished cleaning the basement to get ready for Scott's Poker Night with his friends tomorrow night, I thought I would share how our new basement looks (clean!). Maddox LOVES to play "bideo games" on the arcade system and would play for hours on end if I'd let him (which is how he was able to stay up until 3 a.m. on New Years!). Parker loves to take his little ride-on ATV through the halls (unfortunately, crashing occasionally! Hopefully our paint job holds up until Spring when he can actually ride it outside. Sometimes Santa isn't thinking!). They also love to chase each other through the hidden door in the closet. It's just nice to have some extra space to put stuff (i.e. kids toys), a guest room, and a 'guys area' with Poker, bumper pool, Foosball, etc. Which leaves me a room upstairs I like to call my "Girls/Craft Room". We're not completely done---still need pictures, pub table, bar stools, complete the cabinets, but for the most part we are ready to accept any visitors! The skiing is great this winter!

Dentist New Years Gifts
Hi there! I wanted to just share a quick picture of the latest baskets that I just finished for ~30 dentists for their post-Christmas gifts. We usually do a big basket every Christmas, and then include something for the assistants, etc. This year we decided to wait until after Christmas so that they aren't bombarded with gifts. It was stressful trying to get them all together, but I was pleased with the final result: candles for the assistants, bottle of sparkling cider with a custom label saying "Happy New Year", cheese spread, crackers, knife, golf/dinner passes for the dentist. Yeah---I'm done. Now I just have to think of something else in another 6 weeks!

We decided to take a break from organizing the garage and newly finished basement. Since we just had a new fresh snow fall, we all got bundled up and went down to the school to go sledding for the first time this winter. Poor Parker didn't have a snowsuit big enough for him so he was bundled so tight he couldn't even move his arms (similar to Christmas Story). His snow pants were more like snow shorts! Maddox had a great time! Next time we will graduate him to a bigger hill since he was an expert in no time. Afterwards, daddy and Maddox make a snowman in the yard while mommy and Parker made hot (warm) chocolate for everyone!
